「異常気象」の盛り上がりをどう感じますか？不快に感じるなら…
取引先の受付の方にこう言われました。
こちら東京は「10年に一度」の涼しい夏なのかも知れませんね（笑）
７月上旬の涼しさは雨が原因で、今週は台風の影響なのでしょうか？
これもある意味、異常気象？
当ブログは今後も数十年続きます。
まずは今年2026年の夏の短さ・涼しさを備忘録として残します。
異常気象といえば、ネットではずっとこの話題で盛り上がっています。
こういう場合、盛り上がっているのは全体の20％程度です。
異常気象に否定的が20％、残り60％は無関心です（パレートの法則）。
本記事は異常気象に否定的な20％に向けて書いてみます。
異常気象に否定的だからと、不快になっていても仕方ありません。
盛り上がっている人と同様に、ネタとして楽しみましょう。

異常気象が自然界の問題だったらどうでしょう？
例えば、太陽が近づいている、地軸の傾きが変化しているなど。
それなら異常でもなんでもありません。諸行無常の自然の摂理です。
人間が異常と決めつけるのは、きわめて傲慢な話しですね。
■（２）もしも異常気象が人為的な問題なら
もし（１）が事実なら、天気の専門家が解明しているはずです。
では、異常気象は、人為的な問題なのでしょうか？
人類はさまざまな発展をしてきました。
異常気象がその結果なら、仕方ないこととも言えます。
例えば、異常気象は解消するが、スマホの製造はやめます！
こう言われたらどうでしょう？
異常気象のほうを受け入れるでしょう。
温暖化が解消したって、１～２度下がる程度でしょうし。
高層建築物、道路の整備、エアコンの普及などなんでもそうです。
その他の人為的な要因としては、
✓気象観測技術の進化（観測地点の増加、観測タイミングの増加など）
✓経済界の要請（暑さ対策で経済を動かす家電、衣料、飲食など）
✓メディア（報じるネタ作り、視聴率稼ぎ、海外事情を単に翻訳など）
などなど
■世の中の話題を楽しむ余裕
今年の夏を異常な暑さと報じるなら、今後も異常が既定路線です。
単に「夏は暑い」と騒いでいるように聞こえなくもありませんが…
他人の考え方（異常気象肯定派）を単に否定しても仕方ありません。
どうせ今後も異常気象と報じられるのです。
本記事のようにいろいろ考えるのも頭の体操にいいものです。

That’s what the receptionist at a client's office said to me.
Here in Tokyo, we might be experiencing a "once-in-a-decade" cool summer (haha).
The cool spell in early July was caused by rain, and perhaps this week's weather is due to a typhoon?
Is this, in a sense, also "abnormal weather"?
This blog will continue for decades to come.
For now, I’m recording the brevity and coolness of the summer of 2026 as a personal note.
Speaking of abnormal weather, it has been a hot topic online for quite some time.
In situations like this, the people actively discussing it usually make up about 20% of the total.
20% are skeptical about the concept of abnormal weather, and the remaining 60% are indifferent (Pareto Principle).
I’m writing this post for that skeptical 20%.
There’s no point in feeling annoyed just because you’re skeptical about abnormal weather.
Let’s just enjoy the topic, just as the enthusiasts do.

■ (1) What if abnormal weather is a natural phenomenon?
What if abnormal weather is simply a natural occurrence?
For instance, what if the sun is moving closer, or the tilt of the Earth's axis is shifting?
In that case, it wouldn't be "abnormal" at all; it would simply be the natural order of things—the impermanence of the universe.
For humans to label it "abnormal" is, frankly, the height of arrogance.
■ (2) What if abnormal weather is caused by human activity?
If scenario (1) were the case, weather experts would surely have identified it by now.
So, is abnormal weather actually caused by human activity?
Humanity has achieved tremendous progress.
If abnormal weather is a consequence of that progress, perhaps it is something we simply have to accept.
For example, imagine being told: "We can put an end to abnormal weather, but we have to stop manufacturing smartphones."
How would you react?
You would likely choose to accept the abnormal weather. Even if global warming were somehow reversed, temperatures would likely only drop by a degree or two.
The same applies to everything from the construction of high-rise buildings and road infrastructure to the widespread adoption of air conditioning.
Other anthropogenic factors include:
✓ Advances in meteorological observation technology (more observation sites, more frequent readings, etc.)
✓ Demands from the business sector (driving the economy through heat-related products like appliances, clothing, and food/beverage)
✓ The media (creating stories to report, boosting ratings, simply translating overseas news, etc.)
...and so on.
■ The luxury of enjoying the conversation
If this summer is being reported as "abnormally hot," then such anomalies are likely to become the new normal.
It might just sound like people making a fuss about the fact that "summer is hot," after all...
There is no point in simply dismissing the views of others (such as those who insist the weather is abnormal).
We are bound to see reports of "abnormal weather" in the future regardless.
Still, thinking about these things—as we have in this article—makes for good mental exercise.
