Isn't it okay to make decluttering its own goal?
2 more weeks this year. How about cleaning up at the end of the year?
It is often said that “the means are not the ends”.
However, when it comes to decluttering, isn't it okay to use it as an end in itself?
That's what this article is about.
■Isn't it okay to make decluttering a goal in itself?
This is the image of minimalism! That's what it means.
It's like sitting alone in a empty room (laughs).
Here are some arguments against minimalism and decluttering.
✔ I understand the significance of getting rid of and becoming a minimalist!
However, I feel that there are a lot of people who make it their own goal.
I don't understand this opinion.
Elimination is a means for a comfortable life, but is it a purpose?
You would think such a situation would be silly.
My opinion on this point is
✔ isn't it ok to be the purpose of elimination itself?
✔ Are you too obsessed with ``the end of the means is not correct''?
Separation is both a means and an end.
Decluttering itself is fun. You can think of it as a kind of game.
For example, the room before I got rid of it was a mountain of things (laughs)
It felt like a game how to capture this mountain of things!
A sense of accomplishment when you finish cleaning up after about half a year! (smile)
It's not the ratio when you clear a smartphone game.
I really enjoyed the decluttering itself.
And I was able to get a clean and comfortable room, which was my purpose.
■Both the means and the purpose are fun and happy! life too!
It seems that "making a means into an end" is generally incorrect.
However, you don't need to think too much about the ruler.
If both means and purpose are fun and happy, nothing is better than that.
And there should be many such things in the world.
Housework (cooking, cleaning, laundry), muscle training, studying, etc.
It is fun in itself (means), and even happier when the goal is achieved.
Ultimately, it would be ideal if life itself could be considered in the same way.
It's not bad to have something like a lesson that "happiness is ahead of hardships".
However, it would be ideal if we could devise ways to make “happiness lies ahead of fun”.
